I love the gorgeous retro artwork on this family game. Those are some great looking components too.

October Kickstarter of the Month
This looks like a fun family deckbuilder so I couldn’t resist.
September Kickstarter of the Month
I thought the new idea I’m working on, a solo legacy deckbuilder, was pretty unique; but of course, ideas never are. This looks like a great implementation of that idea and it’s clear that there is obviously a good-sized market for solo games!
August Kickstarter of the Month
I’m taking a break from games this month to highlight this beautifully illustrated collection of fantasy books that I just backed. Take a look!
July Kickstarter of the Month
I tend to like my games pretty small and lightweight but this one caught my eye because the page was so well laid out, the video was so clear, and, it actually embodies some of the ideas I’ve played around with for 4X games.
June Kickstarter of the Month
It’s nice to see a game from the BoardGameGeek contests get published! I’ve played Mini Rogue and loved the tough die-and-you-lose element. Luckily it’s a fast and easy-to-setup game so that doesn’t feel too drastic. Check this one out!
May Kickstarter of the Month
I love small games, especially when the art is as fun as this. I’ve signed up to support this game and can’t wait to play it only a couple months.
April Kickstarter of the Month
I tend toward these lighter, independent, and less expensive fantasy games. This looks like another fun one!
March Kickstarter of the Month
“Trekking the World” has some beautiful art and sounds like a game I could really enjoy. I love the cards that look like Polaroids!
8-bit Dungeon

When I started this blog, I was working on a game that I thought had some commercial potential. Unfortunately but predictably, I ran into some roadblocks during play-testing so that game is on the shelf for now.
Meanwhile, I’ve started entering game contests on Board Game Geek. This is my first contest entry, “8-bit Dungeon”. It’s a dungeon crawler with cool pixel graphics, lots of dice rolling, 8 fun monsters, treasure chests, locked doors, and magical fountains all done with only 9 cards.
Check out this forum thread on Board Game Geek for more information and links to download the print-and-play files.
